Been recording a WoW series of videos for youtube.
The filesizes are gigantic(almost 3 gb each).
Is there any good conversion software out there for free that doesn't splash a big watermark
on the video?

Are you using fraps?  They recommend VirtualDub on their website.

Format factory? Reasonably decent, and it's free. PSPVC is my favourite for converting to mp4 as that's all it outputs, but the quality is excellent and it's free.
And make sure you've got CCCP installed.

Well, I ended up using Windows Movie Maker which ends up taking the video from 2.6gb to under 200mb and the quality doesn't really look that bad.  Text is still readable, you can easily discern what's happening and the graphical details and whatnot.
