Dunno, just thought it'd be a little fun. No real privledge or anything, just instead of normal rankings all the people who have been a member for a certain number of years and has (at some point) contributed to the forum greatly should get a nice shiny tag instead of the normal ranking :P.

Like a golden "Veteran" Tag.

All in good fun though :D

I've been since 2006.
Does that count?
It would be cool if ZFGC Vets had something to represent it.

Anyone with common sense and curiosity would do this.

Yeah we all know that you can do that.
It would just be cool if we got a badge under our avatar in our posts or something.
I don't care, it just sounds cool.

As cool as it sounds, there are two minor issues I see with it. One is that it would just be an ego booster and basically says "hey I get this shiny badge because I've been here forever!" Two, which is probably obsolete anyway, how much memory would an animated shiny badge take? (Most likely not much, but meh)

Just giving opinions. No, not even biased because I'm not a vet, just saying how it might be viewed.

Uh, that date is completely arbitrary if you're trying to find out somebody's original sign up date-- zfgc has gone through MANY iterations, and this version of zfgc didn't start until 2006 or so; ZFGC has been around since 2003.

It's still veteran. Gourry said for two or more years.

There's no point to have a group. There could be a different colour text like how the admin colour is red and mods are blue.

^ that requires a group. :p

as someone else said, registration date = that. I think Limey mentioned something about ego boosts too.. it would be just something else to achieve, like a high post count.

If we currently don't have MotM for ego boosting, I don't see this happening. There's not a lot of point either, IMO it wouldn't encourage new people to stay here...

True, but it wouldn't seem like a different group unless you put the ranks in. The only thing that would seem different would be a coloured name and that's it.

You dont need a badge to show that your a veteran on the forums do you? And cant you just make a small animated icon to have at the side of your names and give the pic link to everyone that has been on the forum for lets say Two years.
I like the idea and it sounds cool but why not use the Icon spot? :]
And if you want to have a even bigger ego boost, you can create your avatars with the actual rank in the avatar and make it look like you have two ranks :p

My ZFGC age is 5 years... September 8th, 2003. I don't think there needs to be a special group, it's not that important.

While the idea is something to think over a bit, ultimately we must address the present concerns before embellishing in past glory.

I honestly see nothing wrong with recognizing the people who helped create ZFGC <_< And by helped create I mean the people who have been here from and near the beginning >_> It's not an ego booster; it's giving recognition where recognition is due.

Anyway, I agree with 4Sword tho, there are more important things to deal with now :p

I wouldn't mind the vets here having something representing their efforts they put in to this place. This topic made me look at my first posts here, I totally forgot I made a game. I wonder if I still have the files...
