After such a long gaming drought, with almost no games to look forward to on the horizon, and after Nintendo has repeatedly and blatantly shunned its fans, is the Wii still as popular here as it used to be?

I'm wondering what it will take for people to become unbiased and realize that the Wii just isn't a gaming machine. It's a wonderful toy, and has widespread appeal, but just not for real gamers.

It is still popular, but among most "non-gamers", so to speak.

Oh I dunno. I'd count myself as a "real gamer" and I still love my Wii.

I have or want:
Call of Duty: World at War
Fire Emblem
Lego Star Wars
Metroid Prime 3
AC:CF
No More Heroes
Mario Galaxy
Super Monkey Ball
Pirates vs Ninja Dodgeball
Brawl
Tales of Symphonia 2
Warioware
Twilight Princess

I havent listed all the ones I own. I'm not saying I wouldn't prefer some more, better games for real gamers, but I don't think it has none.

In one word. Yes.

Most people I know who are games and have a Wii rarely, if ever use. The problem is the Wii has ultimately two kinds of games:
Epic Games
Shitty games

It has no middle ground...at all, and the shitty games have the epic games out numbered 50:1

I don't know, I've never seen why people say the Wii's not a game console. Just from the nature of the term, it is, so I think it's a little silly.  It plays games, some of which are good, some of which aren't.

And I've never felt shunned. I don't know, maybe I don't fit into what you would call "real gamers", but I remember when the term used to refer to people who played games a lot, rather than people who discovered Halo had decent multiplayer. =/ And hey, I'm not saying that's you, I'm only wondering why it bothers people that some of us aren't disappointed with the Wii.

As a side note, why do we have these expectations of how every game on a console should be gold?  I enjoy reading, I would call myself a reader, but I don't complain about all the terrible novels that come out.

I'm still holding out for some kick-ass Wii games, and I'm sure by the end of the Wii's lifespan there will be a nice library of good titles. I actually hope mostly that awesome games will start coming out with the advent of the motionPlus. Certainly the next Zelda will be great.

Overall though, the ratio of time I use my Computer compared to my PS3 compared to my Wii is 15:3:1. Or some other !@#$% statistic that I just made up. >.>

I own the Wii and the PS3 myself, and I can tell you that i hardly ever touch the Wii. It seems it is mostly used when I have parties / get togethers. When I do play it, I usually play older Game Cube games, Resident Evil 0, 1, Wind Waker, and Zelda 4 Sword Adventures. I also play, Zelda ALTTP, Beyond Oasis, Streets Of Rage 2, Bonk's Adventure, and Donkey Kong Jr. on the virtual console. It just seems like an easy way to sit and play classic games.

I gave up on the Wii before I could get attached to it.
I saw this no good game streak coming.
Well, there are some good games.
Not a lot...

I don't see any good games coming out any time soon. I think I'm starting to grow out of gaming...it's just starting to seem so childish.

I've pretty much grown out of gaming too.  Not necessarily because I think it's childish, but because games can never hold my interest anymore.  Even games I used to play non-stop when I was younger get boring after, like, ten minutes.

BLAME THIRD PARTY DEVELOPERS FOR THE CASUAL GAMES! *Starts burning them*

Muahahaha!!!     >:D

Ahem...  I mean... uh-h-h-h.....

The only GOOD third party games are:
Sonic and the Secret Rings - Where you ACTUALLY GO FAST IN A SONIC GAME, and Sonic can turn on a DIVE!  (*Cough*Sonic 360 fails!*cough*)
No More Heroes - Killing Spree!
Fatal Frame IV - Must have!
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Chess+Crack=Awsome.
Tales of Symphonia 2 - Not out, but looks very AWSOME.

IF.

They ACTUALLY make the Legend of Zelda a Casual game. (Which seems to have been confirmed) I will throw my Wii into the dumpster and buy a Paperweight, or a PS3. (Paperweight refers to the Xbox360's "Breaking down" RROD)

Uh, the next Zelda wasn't confirmed to be "casual", you crazy? They just said it would be unlike older Zeldas.. I'm taking that to be a good thing. Stuff like 1:1 swordplay, or puzzles that are actually creative and awesome. New environments (not reusing old areas like Lake Hyrule or Death Mountain), new gameplay elements, maybe something dramatic like an open-world (sorta more like Zelda 1, except better). So don't give up hope. Also, PS3 is very great, and I recommend you buy it, regardless of what the next Zelda is like.

Didnt you know? Wii Sports, is actualy Capcom Sports?

ZOMG!

Also, yes what Zidane said, Third party developers are the only thing going for the Wii, Nintendo just releases "Wii [name]" every 2 or so weeks.

I think this was a good post... Yea, it was definitely a good post.

I play lots of games.  Specifically lots of RPGs and the like, but I think casual games are pretty fun, too.  The Wii's not much of a disappointment for me(it has a frikking NiGHTS sequal!!!).

Pretty much that.
So far I'd say the Wii has been a better console than the gamecube, and the gamecube was perfectly satisfying for me.
I already have a couple dozen wii games and I've only finished about 6 of them, whoever has enough time to get through any consoles top games and complain about a drought must have no life.

Recently I've gotten into Red Steel which is actually a pretty decent game, it certainly gets better towards the end, and the controls are alright once you get used to them.
If you can find it cheap like I did, I'd recommend buying it

I haven't given up on the Wii.

So far there are maybe 3 or 4 games for each console i actually want now.

Wii: Star Wars force unleashed, ToS 2, Animal Crossing, a few RPG's announced for the Wii.

360: GTA 4, RE5, Fable 2

Ps3: RE5, Kingdom Hearts.

It's not that the Wii is Shitty, it's that there is really nothing much i want for any of the consoles now.

For me all 3 consoles have a drought.
