Assuming that they were of great power and that their army was based around assimilation to do other things elsewhere, I would join their army. Really, when you think about it, the army would be the best way to fight against them if need be because you would have their technology; they might ultimately keep the best weapons for themselves or have fail-safes so that their weapons could not be used against them, but humans could reverse-engineer the technology.

The second two choices have no sense of dignity involved in them and really if they came to the planet and offered you choices, they couldn't be that bad considering that they didn't just kill you.

I'd rather fight and die in their army as at least they would see some use in me other than entertainment. If serving in the army and being a pet both involved some admission of inferiority, the army would at least not be as bad in terms of that. Really, when you think about it, at least in terms of race on Earth, the first thing that was really integrated in terms of whites and blacks in America was the army and even before it was integrated, at war the guy next to you wasn't inferior at all.

Oh, and in terms of how humanity treats their pets, if aliens followed suit, you would have your nuts cut off and you wouldn't be able to interact often with other humans.
