The art is intended to be that way to match the medieval style of art, and the jokes aren't spoonfed to you like in other webcomics.

Just because a comic's retro-styled doesn't mean the art has to suck ass. Look at I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space - early pulp comic styled art, but it's actually pleasant to look at.

It's basically one dumb console reference followed by another. Nothing to make me laugh, and nothing intelligent in it.
