Here's a little opening to the topic. See what they all have in common

Oracle of Life
OOT2D+
Book of Pendants

Answer? They are all great zelda remakes that eventually died :(

But seriously, almost all of the great zelda fangames seem to died here at ZFGC. is it a tradition? Let's discuss

What about Book of Mudora? I made the support banner for that one. And I think it's a coincidence. These new games are promising, including Shadowgazer.

What about the game that imfletcher made.  That was good.  Projects fail because they become too much of a burden on the individual.  If more people worked on one project, it would not fail as hard.

True but compare it to how many that have died

Yeah, which is why I also said why the other ones die.  People need to work together more.

In my OoL thread I did say that it was a lack of dedicated team that killed it. Nobody wants to tile a beautiful landscape. Nobody wants to create music to enforce an emotional experience. Nobody wants to create characters to carry a story a long and keep a player interested. I mean, look at OoT2D. By TRM. It's never coming out. It's too much for one person.

It could do. But anyway, there is still hope for a OOT2D game.

I agree that if more people worked together on one game, it'd be much more likely to be finished.
But not too many, because then you get conflicts of ideas *coughZFGCCPcough*

I've just read back what  i wrote earlier and would like to point out that I DO think the CP is coming along. Slowly, but I have faith in it. But my point stands. With non-community projects, its a case of too many cooks.

My point is that people not only do it alone but also they lose interest.

And a pretty bad one in my opinion. TRM didn't release much, but it seemed much less mediocre than OOT2D+.
