Update!
I am back to working on this project, so WHAT kept me busy?
I got two job offers for startups, one which the guy had kidney problems and his doctor told him to stop all activities for a long time, so its obvious I can't work on it.
The other guy is still working on details for his game, which kind of makes it useless for me to work as they are still thinking of what to do.
The next one was Cryptic Studios and I am still waiting for their reply after sending in my art, and they DID reply to me.
I have been trying to get a job and have also been toying around with my own original artwork to improve my artistic ability.
I have also been working on my Japanese language skills in the mean-time while playing Kageyama Kakitori-kun for the DS to improve my Kanji writing skills as well.
But now I am back to work on this game and here is my task list as of now:
- Continue making a list of objects/items/etc. from Ocarina of Time in Microsoft Word as I play through the game.
- Go through each and every object/texture and make sure they are completed and mark them with their corresponding colors
- Once objects and items are collected and inspected (yes ripped from OoT first), re-modeling will be done for the ORIGINAL model and manual textures will be assigned
(I am not ripping it to USE it in the game, I am referencing it to make it as close as possible to the original as N64 content ripped from the game has odd stuff in its geometry anyway and makes things behave weirdly when exported)
- Re-model Hyrule Feild, Zora's River, Zora's Domain
- Make concept art and designs for the new dungeon "Unicorns Lair"
- Use designs and concepts to model the entire dungeon
- Make notes of story-line and how the characters should return and who should be in the game
- Re-model characters when needed, create their own textures and they will have their own original textures and not used from Ocarina of Time
- Rig and test all models who only need short stalling or low animation numbers first
(Example: Ones who never really move or have much interaction and just play a part in standing there to talk to you)
- Work on Link's basic walking and moving around animations first
- Use custom made areas for multiple testing areas
(Example: Walking around, NPC interaction, Navi going to an item and Link's head turns to look at it, battling and so on)
- Go over all steps to ensure everything is done
- Begin coding and testing
After that, I will have another phase for the coding
Why am I not moving onto story-line yet?
I prepare the content first, THEN I work on bringing testing things into the game thus I can bring test stuff into the actual game and make it playable, and I need to learn programing, so on I go
