Yeah, I still need to work the textures more as that one was a test thrown in to let you know the project is still alive with only one person working on the entire thing

I still have a lot to do and manage.

Update post-

Bad news for those of you who aniticpate this game:

As much as I would like to get the animations and so on done for this game, I need to better understand JavaScript and how this game engine works, so I will be working with the engine and doing less content and such, and this means less time for the game and more on the engine.

Progress has been slow, but I am finally getting to it again (life stuff got in the way).

So for a while, I will be working with the engine to become familiar with it and also make my own demo's to get used to the functionality.

If anyone, yes ANYONE, knows JavaScript/C++ or wants to help program this game, it would be HIGHLY appreciated! :D
(The DX Studio game engine uses both JavaScript and C++ for its scripting)

Game update!

I got the interface implemented plus I am learning JavaScript more, so I plan to start the phase of enemy fighting and such, when I get the animations  finished, and get into Targeting and do various things :P

First things first, I need to implement fighting and camera movement and also character movement and functionality :)

Screenshots so far:

I know they are not much, but its what I am working with so far :D

Once I get more accomplished, I will provide demo's and such showing what it can do.
Oh and, DX Studio is reaching toward Macintosh and Linux, that means those of you without Windows can play the game soon :D

Only downfall, not that it matters, Mac or Linux etc. users cannot create games in DX Studio, only play them with the player.

Stay informed! :D

Progress update!

Here is a screen shot of my work flow:

I am planning object, NPC interaction, enemy fights, puzzles and so on within the Temple of Time, a part of my story :P

Yes, I modeled Link, and his cap is missing from some weird importing issue with DX Studio.

Checklist:

Study more JavaScript
Figure out the importing issue with .x files or find an alternative solution.
Test object interaction with Navi the Fairy when animations are tangible, yes she's back :P
Test text messages like Ocarina of Time, just like how you press A and chat with NPC's.
Test climbing and jumping off of something.
Test breakable boxes by slashing and running into them.
Implement enemy fighting and AI.
Test loading different beta/test levels in certain ways to find the best method suitable for this game.

More testing later, that is my goal for now.

Oh and, the interface is not gone, I have a scene open and it only focuses on that, the interface is still there but not visible because they are on differences scenes and layers :P

Some people have been questioning the quality of this game previously.
This game is modeled and themed after Ocarina of Time, hence the blocky looking graphics and such :P
I do plan a higher quality version, but that would come later on, most likely once the game is finished and I make a version with higher resolution graphics and so on.

Update!

The game is not progressing much due to DX Studio, the game engine I am using, has a few bugs in it right now.

I recently had a game job offer professionally as a 2D/3D artist and English proof-reading (He is French and not English fluent) plus translate it into Japanese (I know a ton of Japanese), though I am restricted from revealing any details about it, I may be paid by it too and get into the industry earlier than I expected as an artist.
This will take a lot of time from this project I plan to finish, but I am hoping one day someone will be kind enough to help program it for me in JavaScript, which I am STILL learning.

I am NOT canning this Zelda game project, but due to this job offer it may not be worked on much, so stay tuned!

Also, the site I had for this project died too because it was not popular enough and didn't get much views.

Eventually, I will begin another site though.

Anyway, wish me luck on this possible job! :D

Hey people, I am not dead nor is the project but I was wondering if anyone would like to help me make this game through coding?

I need help with JavaScript and have most 3D models, textures, objects and so on done.

Help with coding will advance this game far beyond what it is now, anyone willing to help?
And if you need screenshots just look at the previous pages on this thread.

I WILL update more screen shots but I have been doing other things as well and it takes time to do it :P
Mostly its the coding holding me back.

Keep up the hard work Janet!!

Yours is the only other original (ie not ripped models) 3d zelda
project being worked on, I have faith in you!!

I would help on the coding, but I'm too caught up in the GameCore
engine to switch tracks now, as my heart engine, enemy ai, and
so much is functional now (even with the interactive framework).

We need more original 3d games, especially in the zelda fangame
series, as there's just never been one finished.

Update!

I am back to working on this project, so WHAT kept me busy?

I got two job offers for startups, one which the guy had kidney problems and his doctor told him to stop all activities for a long time, so its obvious I can't work on it.

The other guy is still working on details for his game, which kind of makes it useless for me to work as they are still thinking of what to do.

The next one was Cryptic Studios and I am still waiting for their reply after sending in my art, and they DID reply to me.

I have been trying to get a job and have also been toying around with my own original artwork to improve my artistic ability.

I have also been working on my Japanese language skills in the mean-time while playing Kageyama Kakitori-kun for the DS to improve my Kanji writing skills as well.

But now I am back to work on this game and here is my task list as of now:

- Continue making a list of objects/items/etc. from Ocarina of Time in Microsoft Word as I play through the game.
- Go through each and every object/texture and make sure they are completed and mark them with their corresponding colors
- Once objects and items are collected and inspected (yes ripped from OoT first), re-modeling will be done for the ORIGINAL model and manual textures will be assigned
(I am not ripping it to USE it in the game, I am referencing it to make it as close as possible to the original as N64 content ripped from the game has odd stuff in its geometry anyway and makes things behave weirdly when exported)
- Re-model Hyrule Feild, Zora's River, Zora's Domain
- Make concept art and designs for the new dungeon "Unicorns Lair"
- Use designs and concepts to model the entire dungeon
- Make notes of story-line and how the characters should return and who should be in the game
- Re-model characters when needed, create their own textures and they will have their own original textures and not used from Ocarina of Time
- Rig and test all models who only need short stalling or low animation numbers first
(Example: Ones who never really move or have much interaction and just play a part in standing there to talk to you)
- Work on Link's basic walking and moving around animations first
- Use custom made areas for multiple testing areas
(Example: Walking around, NPC interaction, Navi going to an item and Link's head turns to look at it, battling and so on)
- Go over all steps to ensure everything is done
- Begin coding and testing

After that, I will have another phase for the coding :)

Why am I not moving onto story-line yet?
I prepare the content first, THEN I work on bringing testing things into the game thus I can bring test stuff into the actual game and make it playable, and I need to learn programing, so on I go :)

Ironic as it is, Chris has left the team a few days ago and I am the only one working on it now.

Things have progressed sluggishly slow but I have moved onto doing mock-ups to gain more members.

This project will NOT die :)
